News of the week

The Law on the legalisation of Russian and foreign official documents and on the requisition of personal documents will come into force on January 1, 2025.
Legalisation is a certification of the authenticity of the signature, the authority of the signatory, as well as the authenticity of the seal or stamp with which the document submitted for legalisation is affixed.
Russian documents can be legalised not only in the central office, but also in the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In addition, territorial authorities will be able to legalise foreign documents drawn up by foreign consulates.
Legalisation of documents by consulates or embassies in electronic form is not provided.
The ban on the removal abroad of identity documents, military ID cards, and work records has been lifted.

• Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 569 of July 2, 2024 - amendments to Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 73 of January 27, 2024 on the temporary procedure for the disclosure and provision of information by business entities that are economically significant organisations and certain other entities: Ministry of Economic Development should be provided with information on core organisations that are directly or indirectly owned by foreign persons or entities. If such organisations or their subsidiaries are credit or non-credit financial institutions, information must be sent to the Bank of Russia.
• Federal Law No. 165-FZ of July 8, 2024 - amendments to the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offences: fines for violations in the field of timber turnover to be included into the KoAP.
