• Decision of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia, dated April 12, 2024 - establishing the procedure and timing for the forced conversion of securities of foreign issuers certifying rights in relation to shares of joint-stock companies with the status of an international company into shares of such joint-stock companies
  
   
• Resolution of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation No. 19-P of April 18, 2024 - in the case of verifying the constitutionality of Part 10 of Article 162 and Part 3 of Article 200 of the Housing Code of the Russian Federation in connection with the complaint of the limited liability company Management Company "Mir": Constitutional Court has clarified that a management company must keep its responsibility under the contract until the emergence of a new management company.

News of the week

Russia creates a new Sub-Committee for settling matters on the use of inventions, utility models and industrial designs in order to ensure the economic security of the state.
The Sub-Committee will consider applications from the Russian legal entities in which the state or Russian citizens own a stake of more than 75%. For this, certain conditions must also be met:

• a patent holder has refused to use the rights;
• a patent holder did not respond to an appeal within 30 days.

Patent holders to be notified of decisions made as soon as reasonably possible, and they will be entitled to a proportionate compensation. If a patent holder refused to grant rights amid sanctions, compensation to be credited to a special 'O' type account.

• Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 249 of April 8, 2024 on amending Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 723 of October 7, 2022 on the Application of Additional Special Economic Measures in the Fuel and Energy Sector in Connection with the Unfriendly Actions of Certain Foreign States and International Organisations - The deadline for the sale of shares of foreign shareholders of the Sakhalin-1 project has been extended.
• Federal Law No. 79-FZ of April 6, 2024 on amending the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Criminal-Procedural Code of the Russian Federation - The thresholds for large and especially large damages have been increased for the purposes of classifying economic crimes.
